ZombiU Wasn’t Profitable for Ubisoft, No Sequel Planned

If you were waiting for a sequel to ZombiU, then you probably shouldn’t as the game wasn’t profitable for Ubisoft.

Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubisoft, revealed this information in an interview with GamesIndustry. The game scored well with critics but it didn’t sell well enough and the company isn’t even thinking about a sequel.

There is simply no desire for it, he says.

“We must find a way to ensure the creativity of those games could have a big enough audience. We hope it will take off. At the moment, we’ve said ‘let’s do through Christmas and see where we are from there,” he said.

The game was a launch title for the Wii U and one of the better survival zombie games to have been released. Ubisoft did a great job with the game, but it doesn’t look like they will be making another one and if we see a sequel, it will probably go multiplatform.

The game was really hardcore, that’s for sure. Tell us what you think in the comments section below.
