The screenshot function for Xbox One preview members has gone live and there are many good things about it. First of all, it saves screenshots as PNG which means there’s not a lot of quality loss compared to what Sony’s PS4 does.
On PS4 you can upload a screenshot to Twitter but it will be compressed and not of optimal quality so even though Xbox One’s screenshot function has come a bit late, Microsoft has done it right.
You can see above an image of Forza Horizon 2 being captured from the Xbox One (Thanks Gaffers).
To save the screenshot without Kinect, you have to double click the home button and press the Y button to save.
The firmware with screenshots will go live to all Xbox One owners in March, so far preview members get to test all these functions and it is working pretty well too.
