Microsoft has confirmed that Xbox One will not be region locked and if you live in a country where the Xbox One doesn’t come out, then you can import it from the main regions. The Xbox One will be launching in 13 regions later this year.
However, there needs to be a valid payment method to buy stuff over Xbox Live, and if you don’t have a US or any of the launch region credit card, you will only be able to play retail games but downloadable games will not be accessible. You also must need a launch supported region Xbox Live account.
“When the console launches this November, we will support Xbox One in 13 markets. Xbox One may be used in all countries, including the non-launched markets. In addition, Xbox One games are not region locked. Any Xbox One game purchased at retail can be used in any country on any Xbox One,” Microsoft said.
The console will be releasing due to a delay in some European regions in 2014, and majority of Asian regions in late 2014. Tell us what you think in the comments section below.
