Microsoft director of product planning Albert Penello has revealed that Microsoft does not store physical profile data on their servers online. It will be stored on the Xbox side.
“We DO NOT store your physical profile information online. Save games, app history, settings, etc. If you want to log-in with Kinect you need to do that on every new console,” Penello wrote on GAF.
This is pretty straightforward and something that a lot of people will be happy with. This also offers people extra security when it comes to their personal info since Kinect privacy was a major topic when the Xbox One was revealed.
Penello also added some new details on Xbox One app switching in a subsequent post.
“The last 4 apps you run are stored resident in the flash. This means there is 0 load time once it’s been started. If you had Netflix, IE, Xbox Music and the TV app already opened once, you could basically switch instantly between them. The fifth app you opened would boot out the last one.”
We will keep you updated once we hear more on this.
