Microsoft’s next-gen system will be based on Windows 8 core, it has been revealed.
Paul Thurrot, who accurately predicted the May 21st reveal date for the Next Xbox, has mentioned on Twitter that the console will use Windows 8 in some capacity.

This move makes the console in sync with PC gaming but it’s not clear whether Microsoft would open it up to that extent. The console will have a lot of features that the OS brings to the table, so you can expect some great graphics and a fast kernel, which means faster boot times.
