Rockstar Games has released a Q&A where they revealed some details on Grand Theft Auto 5. They also said that the PS3 version will be similar to the Xbox 360 version and they are making sure that they pay attention to each version.
If you remember the PS3 version of GTA5, it ran at a lower resolution and had performance issues. Red Dead Redemption also had grass missing, and was noticeably better on the Xbox 360.
However, Max Payne 3 turned out to be spectacular on the PS3. If you had to choose between the two, the Xbox 360 version comes on two discs however it requires only one disc to play after an install. The PS3 version comes on one disc but requires an 8GB installation.
Players can expect the same great gameplay experience on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms as they have both been developed in tandem. Like all of our games, trust that we’re committed to making sure Grand Theft Auto V looks and runs as great as possible regardless of whether you pick it up for PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, and we are excited for fans on both platforms to experience Grand Theft Auto V this September. We expect any visual differences to be completely negligible.
If you own only one console, then it’s a no-brainer, but if you gotta choose between one, I guess it depends on your controller preference.
The game will be released on September 17 for the PS3 and Xbox 360. They have not revealed any details on the PC version yet.
