Volition has released a new dev diary for Saints Row 4 and they explain how important the fans are who have stuck with this franchise for years. Having being compared to GTA and carving out its own identity, the Saints Row franchise has really come a long way since the first game.
“We never forget the people who’ve stuck with us this entire time,” Steve Jaros, the creative director of the game, said. “Without Saints Row 1 and 2, there’d never be a Saints Row 3. Without Saints Row 3, there’d never be a Saints Row 4.
“So finding ways to go and have the game evolve, but evolve in such a way that it doesn’t alienate [the fans]; that makes them feel like they’re part of the journey rather than being forced to come along for a ride they never wanted, is something that’s very important to us.”
Saints Row 4 will be out on August 20th and our review will be out as soon as the embargo lifts.
