The Witcher 3 is not the last Witcher game, “franchise will continue” – CEO

Earlier we reported that The Witcher 3 could be the last game in the franchise.

However, Adam Kicinski, CEO of CD Projekt RED, has said that the franchise will continue.

This comes as a surprise because Adam Badowski, head of the studio, had said that they were going to make the best game in the franchise and “end the series on a high note.”

Kicinski also mentioned that the game will be released in 2014. The series has also reached 5 million sales.

“The release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will take place in 2014. Game will be released at the same time on the PC on new, powerful hardware and the new generation of consoles,” he said to a Polish site stooq.pl.

“This is the last part of the trilogy where there will be a grand finale of the story. But it is not clear at the end of the franchise. Franchise will continue.”

So there you go, there could be more stories in The Witcher franchise in the future, but it looks likely that it won’t feature Geralt, because beards and all that.
