Launch PS4 owners have a reason to cheer, their console has just completed its first birthday and that’s the end of the warranty period. But seriously, the console has seen some good times like incredible sales but the first-party software has been lacking so far.

Sony has released an infographic which shows some stats of the console including how much time gamers have spent on it.

The console has shipped 13.5 million units and it is the leading next-gen gaming hardware so far with Microsoft closing in with 10 million Xbox One consoles shipped worldwide.

There are also 7.9 million PS Plus subscribers which isn’t a surprise considering it is mandatory for online play.

Actually the ps4 sold 13.5mil to people, not shipped. Probably going to be a long while before microsoft closes in with actual sales. I have enjoyed ps4 to some level in its first year, but, new gen games need to perform better and actually work rather than being rushed out. Sony’s biggest downfall right now is PSN as it has become so slow and unstable. Its something that has really annoyed me because it was so fast from launch right up to about 1 month ago and now it sucks. Im tempted to go the PC route next year as xbox makes no sense to me and pc games are mostly “grown up” games that i have gotten used to with being on ps3/ps4. Time will tell whether i sell the ps4 after that but i most likely wont as sony still has the best 1st party exclusives. I just hope they sort out PSN xD

yeah i realized that after i read it lol. it still doesn’t make sense as before this web site posted, sony did actually announce 13.5mil sold. anyway, i actually went ahead and sold my ps4 just the other week so i could get a pc, i was unsure at first but i found a really powerful pc for cheap and couldn’t pass up on the deal. i do not regret that 1 bit as i was a little disappointed by the new gen consoles but there’s just so much more to a pc that you simply cant get bored of. battlefield 4 looks great in 1080p @ ultra, and to say it was cheap as it was i would suggest everybody upgrades to pc lol.
