Sony hasn’t closed Superbot Entertainment, developers of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, but the studio has shrunk.
The studio is also working on a new IP, according to a report by Edge. There won’t be a sequel to PSASBR, because of this new development. The game must not have performed well commercially for Sony to invest into the project.
The studio had earlier released a statement which said that their relationship with Sony had ended, but it looks like publisher didn’t go ahead with it.
“We have substantially shrunk down our operations but are still going strong while we work on a new IP,” Superbot’s director of operations David Yang revealed.
Their new IP could be for the PS4, but nothing is confirmed at this stage.
