Square Enix has posted another loss, this time amounting to 1.6 billion yen for the first quarter of fiscal year 2014. However, this loss isn’t enough for them to revise their forecasts for the full year, according to the company.
They noted that content on browser and smartphones have been making a smooth progress. Dragon Quest X has been showing good progress as well. Net sales and operating income of the digital entertainment segment totaled to 11,557 million yen and 1,318 million yen respectively.
In response to the latest environmental changes in the game industry, the Company has implemented a change in its development policy, and conducted a comprehensive review on work-in-progress game titles for the three-month period ended June 30, 2013.As a result, the Company has decided to book a loss on evaluation of content (approximately ¥1.6 billion) as an extraordinary loss.
There are no release dates for Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 3 mentioned yet.
