Sony will be making a loss on the PS4 when it goes on sale later this year in NA and EU, it has been revealed by Sony Japan executive Masayasu Ito.

The loss will however be minimal and not as much as what it cost the company when shipping the PS3, which made them lose approx. $300 per console sold.

Here, the loss is of $60 only, as per report on Eurogamer, and they are aiming to recoup the cost using mandatory PS Plus subscription for online play and when a user buys a game.

Due to the the PC-like architecture, it will be easier for the company to reduce costs quickly, Ito added.

its just a shame the the free plus games for NA aren’t nearly as interesting as EU games.
