Sony has revealed its Q2 FY 2013 figures and they have shipped 2 million PS3s. The PS2 sales are not included because the system was discontinued earlier this year.
The company as a whole recorded a net loss of $197 million in the quarter with the game division recording a minor $8 million loss. PS4 will be released next month and is expected to bring in a lot of revenue for the company.
Software sales have increased drastically in the quarter which is actually a positive development considering sales usually slow down when a platform’s successor is announced. It also may have to do with GTA 5 which has sold exceptionally well on the PS3 with over 10 million sales on the platform alone.
