Sony has just revealed that the scheduled maintenance to be held on August 25th will be postponed. They have not said anything about a new timeframe for the maintenance but they did undergo a significant maintenance yesterday due to the DDOS attack which crippled the service for many.
It has also been revealed that the FBI is investigating the entire issue. Sony Online Entertainment’s John Smedley’s flight was diverted after a bomb scare done by the hackers. This is a major offense in the US.
Sony had released a statement earlier where they confirmed that the system was being DDOSed.
The service is now online and works perfectly. Although, there might be some disturbances as it is just recovering from a major attack. Earlier the hacker revealed that Sony’s security was poor and they had not learnt anything from the PSN hack 2011 debacle.
