Square Enix cannot handle the demands for Final Fantasy 14. We earlier reported that the publisher had halted digital sales after too many people tried to connect which was way more than what they expected.
The reason for halting the digital sales was to add more servers and the issue still persists, resulting in producer Yoshida apologizing to people who bought the game.
“I would like to take the time to personally apologise once again to all those players who have been affected by the extended World login and character creation restrictions which have been in place for the past several days,” he wrote on the game’s forum.
“I also understand that apologies will not help you get logged in, so I would like to give you an update on the situation at hand and the various measures we are currently employing to alleviate the situation.”
Meanwhile, Sony have revealed that they will be refunding people who bought the game on the PSN from 27th or 28th August. The refund will be processed and credit to the PSN wallet.
“In addition, the entitlements of Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn Standard Edition or Collector’s Edition will be reset and the title will appear again in the download list,” Sony revealed. “We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience.”
