Sony Hints At PSN Name Change Functionality in 2018

At a PSX Panel Sony PlayStation, US boss Shawn Layden hinted at PlayStation Network id change functionality to be expected next year.

It was in response to a question as to why PSN members can’t change their user id. Expect this functionality to be paid, although the first time could be free.

He responded to Greg Miller, ““Let me put it this way, I hope we’ll see events occur so that you don’t have to ask me that question next PSX.”

This is great news for PSN members but at this point, it feels like too late. There will be definitely people who will pay for this and such a functionality is good to have for people who are not happy with their current PSN ids.

PlayStation Experience this year was held in a panel format and didn’t receive good reviews. There are tons of members on PSN, more than 70 million. It is ahead of Steam as well.
