Sony and Hideo Kojima, creator of the Metal Gear Solid franchise, have entered into a collaboration for a console exclusive PS4 game. Andrew House of Sony and Hideo Kojima announced this in a new video and urged fans to look forward to this new game.
The game is a console exclusive and it has been confirmed to be releasing on the PC as well, but after the PS4 version comes out first. We have no details on the title as such but knowing Kojima, it should be grand.
Sony Computer Entertainment will be the publisher for the new game and they have revealed that Kojima Productions will be developing the game, with SCE providing necessary support.
Assuming the development starts this year, we may see something being announced at E3 2016, with a release in 2017 or 2018. Kojima usually likes to take his time so we can’t say for certain.
“I will be taking on a new challenge by establishing my own independent studio, and I am thrilled to be able to embark on this journey with PlayStation, who I have continued to work with all these past years,” said Hideo Kojima. “I cannot wait to deliver, with PlayStation, a game that will become a compelling franchise.”
