Konami has confirmed that they have cancelled Silent Hills, an ambitious survival horror game which was supposed to be developed in collaboration with Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro.
Earlier actor Norman Reedus had revealed that he no longer works for Konami and the project had been scrapped. Guillermo Del Toro of Pacific Rim fame tweeted the same thing.
Now Konami has officially announced the cancellation:
“Konami is committed to new Silent Hill titles, however the embryonic ‘Silent Hills’ project developed with Guillermo del Toro and featuring the likeness of Norman Reedus will not be continued,” they revealed.
Well there you go folks. Hideo Kojima may leave Konami at the end of the year but MGSV will come out on September 1st.
