Road Redemption by Darkseas Games has been funded on Kickstarter.
The game had a target of $160,000 which didn’t seem like it would be met, but it ended up happening and now people can play a spiritual successor to Road Rash sometime next year.
It’s not clear how the project was funded when it looked like it would fail but some extra press would have helped it.
Here’s what the team had to say:
“We’d like to give a huge thanks to all of Road Redemption’s backers for making this possible, and for helping us spread awareness. Road Redemption has been our dream project for over a decade, and we’re so excited that we can now devote our full time towards finishing it.”
They also mentioned that Road Rash co-creator Dan Geisler supported them as well.
The current funding is at $161,000, and an Xbox 360 port will be done at $178,000. Oculus Rift support will be added at $198,000 which doesn’t seem that likely now.
