Sony has announced that the PS4 has sold through 4.2 million units worldwide. This is impressive considering Microsoft recently announced that the Xbox One had so 3 million units.

PlayStation Plus subscriptions are also on the rise with 90% growth. They have also sold 9.7 million units of software with an attach rate of 2.3.

The PS4 stock seems to be limited but these sales are proof that Sony is trying their best in shipping them.

Great job Sony. Although 2.3 attach rate seems kinda meh. They probably should have had some classics (perhaps HD remastered) and ready to go for these lean first months.

Eventually, the PS4 will be that far ahead, One price drop will drop upon us. I can see it being 2 to 1, maybe even 3 to one. By Christmas 2014, it wouldn’t surprise me if the PS4 tips 10 million units, maybe more. The One will hit 6 million units tops this year. But there’s a strong chance that the One will slow right down because of its £430 price tag.
