Sony revealed yesterday that they would be releasing the much anticipated firmware update for PS4 and PS4 Pro today and as expected the update is now live. It is around 340MB in size and if you are a Pro owner you can enjoy the boost mode which increases performance in older games.
You can also extend the PS4’s space by adding an external HDD. You can install games on this HDD. There are improvements for PS VR as well. The new update allows you to set a custom wallpaper and profile colour.
But of course what most people are waiting for is the boost mode which can improve games like Bloodborne and make it a lot smoother. The games that have received PS4 Pro patch may not utilise the boost mode.
The update is mandatory and must be downloaded if you wish to connect to the PlayStation Network.
