Andrew House CEO of SCE has confirmed that PS4K or Neo is in development and will be sold alongside the PS4 console which was released on November 2013.
He also gave some details on the device by revealing that it will be expensive than the current PS4, so you can hope for it be around $400-$500. He also said that the console is for enthusiasts and 4K TV owners who would want a high end console, and it will also complement the PS4.
“It is intended to sit alongside and complement the standard PS4,” he revealed to Financial Times. “We will be selling both [versions] through the life cycle.”
The console will not be revealed at E3 2016 so that’s a bad news. However, expect more information from Sony after E3. Hopefully Microsoft will be revealing Xbox One Scorpio soon.
All games will run on the PS4 and Neo, according to House.
“All games will support the standard PS4 and we anticipate all or a very large majority of games will also support the high-end PS4.”
It will be interesting to see how the market reacts to these new consoles. Earlier it was rumoured that the Scorpio could be twice as powerful as the Neo.
