Nvidia has announced a latest Kepler-based GPU which they are dubbing as the fastest GPU ever made: The Quadro K6000.
It comes with a whopping 12GB GDDR5 RAM, and the PS4 in comparison has 8GB of GDDR5 which is quite good in itself.
It is said to have double the graphics capablity of the previous Quadro 6000 model.
“The Nvidia Quadro K6000 GPU is the highest performance, most capable GPU ever created for the professional graphics market,” said Ed Ellett, senior vice president, Professional Solutions Group at Nvidia.
“It will significantly change the game for animators, digital designers and engineers, enabling them to make the impossible possible.”
The GPU features 2,880 streaming multiprocessor cores, and supports up to 4 monitors at 4K. The K5000 costs about $2,2500, so this could be more than that.
It will be available this fall from vendors like HP, Dell and other major workstation providers.
