Nintendo’s Satoru Iwata Passes Away on July 11th

Satoru Iwata, President of Nintendo Co., Ltd., poses after Nintendo's E3 presentation of their new Nintendo 3DS at the E3 Media & Business Summit in Los Angeles

Nintendo’s president Satoru Iwata has passed away. Nintendo released a statement confirming that he died on July 11th due to a bile duct growth. There will obviously be changes in the board and at the company.

July 11th will be a sad day for all gamers as his contribution to gaming in general is monumental. RIP Iwata sir, you will be remembered as legend.

Nintendo is back on the growth track and had started posting profits again. They will find it incredibly difficult to replace an iconic person such as Iwata with someone else so best of luck to them.

So unexpected. Thank you Mr. Iwata for all the great games and times you provided us with. I hope you are resting in peace.
