Nintendo is known for going overboard when it comes to the issue of privacy.
They have done the same here where Nintendo Europe has confirmed that it won’t allow people to download 18+ rated Wii U games before a certain time.
Adults also buy the system, the Wii U has a minor account as well, so it is baffling why it isn’t being allowed by Nintendo. When a NeoGAF user tried to contact Nintendo Italy, he was met with this response and we have also confirmed it to be true.
“Dear customer, we would like to let you know that Nintendo has always aimed to offer gameplay experiences suited to all age groups, observing carefully all the relevant regulations regarding content access that are present in the various European countries,” the Nintendo representative said.
“We have thus decided to restrict the access to content which is unsuitable to minors (PEGI) to the 11pm – 3am time window.”
Now this is absolutely ridiculous and no Wii U owner should consent to this policy.
If you try to view the content, you will get a message stating, “You cannot view this content. The times during which this content can be viewed have been restricted.”
Baffling decision from the company. Well you can always joke that not many Nintendo games are over 18+ but that’s not the point.
