Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is shaping up to be an excellent game and one of the graphical showcases on the PS4, however, it doesn’t seem like the game will hit 60fps.
We can’t say for sure based on their comments to Edge Magazine because Naughty Dog mentioned that if 60fps impacts player experience they won’t hit it.
Now, consoles have limited power and if you want to extract good graphics from it it is beneficial to stick to 30fps so that more power is available for fancy graphical effects.
“We’re actually above 30, but we locked it [for the demo],” he said.
“We’re going to do whatever it takes to make the game we want to make. If it means we could go for 60 but lose something that would really impact the player’s experience, then it’s our choice as developers to say, ‘Well, we’re going to go for the experience over the 60 frames.’”
