Namco Bandai on a roll, makes a lot of revenue and profits

Namco Bandai has revealed its financial figures and they are on the positive side.

The company had been struggling lately so it’s nice to see them bounce back with some solid performance. They posted sales of $4.8 billion for fiscal year 2012 and the net income was $320 million.

The content division contributed more than 50% of the overall sales and also ran at a profit. They do not expect to match this performance next year and it’s not clear what their plans are for next-gen consoles.

They have also revealed sales of key titles:

  • Tekken Tag Tournament 2  – 1.5 million
  • Soulcalibur V – 1.05 million
  • Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 – 1 million

It’s nice to see the company making a lot of money so that they can invest it on next-gen consoles and probably churn out an IP or two, however, that looks unlikely. However, bring on next-gen Tekken games.
