Microsoft shipped 6.6 million Xbox consoles this holiday season however their revenue decreased by 20% due to the price cut for Xbox One and other factors.
The company as a whole posted a good revenue and profit and even the Surface posted good revenue which offset the Xbox platform revenue decline.
The Xbox One was available for $349 which has hit them hard but they have made the price permanent in the NA now. Compared to Sony, the Xbox One is still way behind and hopefully it will pick up worldwide if a price cut happens.
Microsoft has lumped up both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One sales so it is difficult to find out which sold what, but the Xbox 360’s popularity has declined due to the next-gen platforms and that’s kinda expected.
