Things are not looking too good for the Xbox division as Microsoft has announced that it has sold 2.4 million Xbox consoles (Xbox One and Xbox 360) in the period between July and September.

While they say it’s a 102% increase compared to the last quarter, the reluctance in giving out Xbox One numbers clearly shows that they are not satisfied with its performance. The console is doing well just not as good as the PS4 is and are losing marketshare rapidly.

The console recently launched in 28 new territories and we know the NA and UK are the most important markets for the Xbox brand. It remains to be seen with the influx of more software whether the Xbox One can bounce back or not.

The split between Xbox One and Xbox 360 isn’t clear yet but the Xbox 360 has sold 84 million units to consumers so far.

Sounds like it’s doing pretty well. 2.4 million in a single quarter is doing well and that number will likely be a lot higher in the holiday quarter. I think you have a fuzzy understanding of the phrase, “doing well.”
