Metro: Last Light is a massive commercial success, triples predecessor’s sales

Metro: Last Light has outsold Metro 2033 in just a week according to Deep Silver, the publishers of the game.

They have revealed that the game has sold more in a week than its predecessor did in three months. The game was released digitally as well, and the marketing push for the game has been excellent.

This should be good news for 4A Games, who are a talented developer, based in Ukraine. They didn’t get enough credit for Metro 2033, but it’s nice to know Last Light is the game that puts them in the spotlight.

“Metro: Last Light is Deep Silver’s most critically acclaimed game to date,” said Menno van der Bil, international commercial director at Deep Silver revealed.

“We are delighted with the deserved critical and commercial success the game has achieved, and hope that this success represents a statement of intent for future quality titles from Deep Silver. We would like to thank 4A Games for their talent, passion and commitment in helping us reach this milestone.”

4A is pretty happy with this news as well, and here’s what they had to say about it.

We reviewed the game as well and loved it. A new DLC will be released for the game later this year.
