Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: Nintendo Removes Fire Hopping

Mario Kart 8 fans on the Wii U would know about a technique called fire hopping which allowed them to go faster in the race. It was a tricky thing to do but many people had mastered it and it definitely gave you an advantage over people who didn’t use it.

However, in the Switch version of the game, it seems the technique has been toned down significantly by Nintendo. You can no longer get a speed boost and it actually might be a hindrance now because it sort of slows you down. GameXplain made a video showing the difference which will give you a better idea of the Switch version of Mario Kart 8.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will be released on April 28th for the Nintendo Switch. The original Mario Kart 8 received great scores from valued publications.

Check out the video below that shows the differences.
