How to Use PS4 to PC/Mac Remote Play

ps4 remote play pc

With firmware 3.50, PlayStation 4 users now have the ability to stream content from the console to their PC or Mac hardware. It is pretty simple and effective and we will show you how to do that.

First off, you have to download the client on your PC or Mac. Client is available here.

You need a DualShock 4 controller and a USB cable to connect to your desired platform. After installing the client on your PC or Mac, start the PS4 remote play application and pair your device with your PS4.

Sony recommends an internet speed of 5mbps at least to stream using the default settings. However, you can also lower the resolution to 360p which will run pretty smoothly although kinda look poor.

You can set the settings in the remote play applications by going to preferences. You do not need a high end PC or Mac to be able to stream and it will work fine on a Macbook Air.

Here are the system requirements:

Windows PC

A computer with either of the following operating systems.
Windows 8.1 (32-bit or 64-bit)
Windows 10 (32-bit or 64-bit)
Intel Core i5-560M Processor 2.67 GHz or faster
100 MB or more of available storage
2 GB or more of RAM
1024 x 768 or higher display resolution
Sound card
USB port

Mac

A computer with either of the following operating systems.
OS X Yosemite
OS X El Capitan
Intel Core i5-520M Processor 2.40 GHz or faster
40 MB or more of available storage
2 GB or more of RAM
