Earlier there were reports that Grand Theft Auto 5 for PS4 and Xbox One had been delayed due to technical reasons. There were also rumours that this had something to do with the PC version, but all those have been debunked by Rockstar Games.
In a reply to a fan on the official Rockstar Games website, the support team said that the game will be meeting the 2014 release date and there has been no change in it.
The next-gen version was announced at E3 2014 and it does look like a lot of work has gone on it. The game has sold 32 million copies so far on the PS3 and Xbox 360 and looks to sell a good amount on the current gen consoles as well.
