Sony has announced Gran Turismo 6 for the PS3, according to a leaked press release.
The announcement was under embargo but broken by a South African site and here’s what it contained. The game will be revealed at a live event sometime later today we understand.
“GT6 for PlayStation 3 will bring new levels of authenticity to ‘the Real Driving Simulator’ as well as introducing stunning new tracks and cars and a revised user interface,” it read.
“A new compact game engine will improve operation and increase the flexibility to expand it with downloadable content.”
There will be plenty of cars in the game and the ones in GT5 will be retained in GT6, and it features 1200 cars at launch with more to be added online. There’s also customization like aerodynamic parts and custom wheels for cars, and players can customize their cars in-game as well.
There are 33 tracks with 71 layouts and 19 of them are said to be new. One notable track is Silverstone Circuit from UK. The course maker is said to be improved as welel.
The UK’s Silverstone Circuit will be one of seven new locations in Gran Turismo 6, taking the total to 33, with 71 different layouts available, 19 of them being new.
“It is amazing to think that it is 15 years since we first released Gran Turismo,” Kazunori Yamauchi said. “Things have changed a lot since then and now Gran Turismo 6 is a further evolution of my dream. We’re pleased to deliver GT6 to PlayStation 3 as we have a very loyal community on that platform.”
The game was teased a lot and will be released this year for the PS3.
