EA hasn’t announced Battlefield 4 for the Wii U and there may be a reason behind that, a technical reason.
Johan Andersson, who is the technical director of Frostbite, has revealed that they had tested Frostbite 2 on the Wii U and weren’t too pleased with the results.
This is contrary to earlier rumours which said that the engine was running on the Wii U but was halted due to unknown reasons.
“FB3 has never been running on WiiU,” Andersson tweeted. “We did some tests with not too promising results with FB2 & chose not to go down that path.”
Since majority of EA games will be using the Frostbite tech including core Star Wars games–the license for which was acquired recently by the company–the Wii U may be missing out on a lot of games.
