Earlier we reported that Final Fantasy XV had completed the pre-beta stage, and now a developer had revealed us more information on the game and also what “pre-beta” stage actually means.

He revealed that the game can be played from start to finish and the first half is completely finished. There’s still a lot of work to be done, however, and it seems like 2016 release may be a reality.

“We can polish up the game, add and adjust some details so the game can reach the quality needed for the final product.
There are few elements that are in still test stage so it’s not completely implemented, but it’s important that we can share the big picture of the overall game to everyone,” Satoshi Kitade wrote on FFXV forums.

“The first half of the game is pretty much completely polished. So we have idea of how the final game will look and feel. We have idea of how much work is needed to make the game in it’s final state. We also have some guests from outside the company come and play the game so we get the feel of how users play the game, and see how the pace/balance is for the players.

“So in this stage of the development it’s all about us programmers to show our skills. Please look forward to it.”

Actual development started in 2012 and Square Enix has been hard at work in trying to finish the game. Final Fantasy XV was originally Final Fantasy Versus XIII and was announced in 2006. It’s been a long wait for Final Fantasy fans but it seems they don’t have to wait much any longer. Positive vibes are being sent by the development team for the game.
