Square Enix, like the wonderful developers they are, have ported the console version of Final Fantasy XIII to PC without even unlocking the frame rate. Since the console version of the game runs at 720p, the PC version is locked at that same resolution as well.
However, help is at hand, as Durante–the one who fixed Dark Souls PC and Deadly Premonition PC–has released another tool called GeDoSato, which can be found on his website.
If you install the tool, the game can effectively output 4k resolution and hence look absolutely spectacular when you take into account all the special effects.
Final Fantasy XIII has been released on the PC and other games in the XIII series will head to the platform eventually as well.
