Final Fantasy VII Remake On Track, Says Square Enix

Square Enix’s schedule is well known to most gamers. Their major AAA games take forever to come with the famous Final Fantasy 13 taking close to 5 years to launch. However, Square Enix’s Yoshinori Kitasi has mentioned that Final Fantasy VII Remake which was unveiled at E3 2014 is on track for launch and the development is proceeding perfectly.

Final Fantasy Brand Manager Shinji Hashimoto has also mentioned that the development is going well and he is looking forward to E3 this year.

Final Fantasy VII Remake will come in three episodes and the first one will launch hopefully before 2020. We could expect to see some more footage at Sony press conference at E3 this year as hinted by Hashimoto.

There could be new Final Fantasy games announced too like Final Fantasy XVI, as the previous game came out in 2016 and it’s due for a new mainline Final Fantasy game.

However, it’s better to not put too many eggs in the Square Enix basket as they may not hatch so soon. The remake will not have a turn-based system according to Tetsuya Nomura.
