Bethesda Softworks have announced that they have shipped 12 million units of their latest game Fallout 4. This is an extremely big sell-in number and if you’re wondering how much it actually sold, they haven’t given that number yet.
Skyrim shipped 7 million copies and sold 3.5 million copies on day 1, so we can safely assume Fallout 4 must have sold 60% of its shipment which is around 7 million copies.
It was also earlier revealed that the game sold 1.2 million units on the PC on day 1, so consoles could be taking a huge share of the sales.
“Following the release, Bethesda was advised that launch day sales at some of the leading retail chains were the largest of any game released this year. Bethesda is now shipping more Fallout 4 units to retailers to meet ongoing market demand,” they revealed.
The game is also a critical success and more DLC should be in the works. More details are awaited on that.
