Destiny: Reports of Rampant Cheating in Trials of Osiris

destiny featured

It seems locking out amazing rewards behind a tough Trials of Osiris is making players do not-so-sporting things. Trials of Osiris is a new PvP mode devised by Bungie which was unlocked yesterday.

After getting 9 wins you are eligible to go to a new social space Mercury and get some great rewards from a chest there. You can also buy gear and get Etheric Light and other things from Brother Vance in the Reef.

It is a 3vs3 elimination mode that has requires players to get to compete for first to 5 round wins in a single match. It’s a great PvP mode but some people have decided to cheat their way to loot.

A post on Reedit explains how it works. It seems to be some sort of lag switch that makes a certain player invisible and boots out the opposite team resulting in an easy win for them.

Here is a video for proof.

So if you encounter a team that’s cheating make sure to report them to Bungie and hopefully Bungie fixes this from happening a lot.

Tell us what you think in the comments section below.

Does it count as a loss for the booted party? This video doesn’t really prove anything, Destiny is glitchy a lot like this, on its own. I do tend to believe its true though due to the lack of Bungie error message and the way it all went down (and assuming that these players and many more are seeing it happen repeatedly/systematically). Anyway, either none will get banned unless the guys in the video truly are innocent and then they WILL get banned without proper investigation :]

it does count for a loss on the booted party, then it also counts for a win for the lag switch members. happened to me last night….reported players immediatly.
