CDPR: Cyberpunk 2077 Will Have No Hidden Catch, “We Leave Greed To Others”

After the EA Star Wars: Battlefront 2 debacle where the ugly side of capitalism and greed reared its ugly head, microtransactions and in-game pay2win systems have kind of a bad reputation among gamers.

CD Projekt RED, the developers of the critically and commercially acclaimed The Witcher series, have reassured their fans that their upcoming game Cyberpunk 2077 will be devoid of any hidden catch.

In a response to a tweet which said that they were considering “games as a service” to better monetize their games, they replied:

“Worry not. When thinking CP2077, think nothing less than TW3 — huge single player, open world, story-driven RPG. No hidden catch, you get what you pay for — no bullshit, just honest gaming like with Wild Hunt. We leave greed to others.”

This is such refreshing honesty from a game developer. The game might be released in late 2018 or early 2019. So far we do not have a concrete release date for it.

This was the original CGI trailer released for the game way back in 2017.
