Capcom Confirms No Additional Versions of Street Fighter V Coming

Street Fighter 4 received a ton of new additions like Ultra Street Fighter 4 and Super Street Fighter 4 but Capcom has said repeatedly that they aren’t planning to do that with Street Fighter 5.

They have confirmed again to Eventhubs that there’s no plans to release a new edition of the game. The game launched with sparse content and performed poorly sales-wise. It was a good looking game that added a bunch of new fighters.

“We’re always looking at how we can innovate on the series’ model, while keeping an eye on how receptive fans would be to a new type of offering for a Street Fighter game,” revealed Capcom’s Matt Dhalgren. “Street Fighter 5 innovated on the series’ model by being a service-based platform, with earnable post launch content.”

The game is still popular in the fightng game community and hopefully Capcom will continue to support Street Fighter V. We gave it an 8/10 in our review and called it “a tease” from Capcom.

Thanks, Eventhubs.
