We have some latest information on Call of Duty: Ghosts or what is known as Modern Warfare 4.
The game is running on a brand new next generation engine, and this was once again leaked by Tesco, which earlier showed us what the box art looked like. That may have been a placeholder but rumours about Call of Duty: Ghosts were spread much before that.
We covered the gameplay details and what innovations the title could bring to the series, but a confirmation that the game will also be running on a new engine is great news.
Previous Call of Duty games were criticized for reusing the old engine and not making much visual advances in the series, but according to the description leaked by UK supermarket Tesco, the game is supposed to user in the “next generation of the franchise”
You can check out the full quote below. The box arts were earlier leaked for the game and was later pulled, but this is what the description reads:
The franchise that has defined a generation of gaming is set to raise the bar once again with the all-new Call of Duty: Ghosts. Published by Activision and developed by Infinity Ward, the studio that created the original Call of Duty and the seminal Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series, Call of Duty: Ghosts ushers in the next generation of the franchise, delivering a riveting all-new gameplay experience built on an entirely new story, setting and cast, all powered by a new next-generation Call of Duty engine.
The game will also be developed by Infinity Ward. Stay tuned for more details. Here’s a screengrab of the description as well since Tesco has already removed it.
