Beyond: Two Souls – Game Length and Details, 35 min footage

We have the 35 minute gameplay footage for Beyond: Two Souls which was shown at the Tribeca film festival along with new details.

The game will be 10 hours long, as much as Heavy Rain was, and choices and outcomes will be determined by the player. The trailer was shown at Tribeca film festival along with a 35 minute gameplay footage from which new details were revealed.

There won’t be much QTEs in the game but shaky button prompts appear during certain actions. These are similar to what we have seen in Heavy Rain but they won’t be as abundant in this game.

The game will be presented in a 2.40:1 widescreem aspect ratio which means there will be black bars on top and bottom similar to films. It’s a cinematic game and David Cage wants to give that authentic film feeling to the players.

The main protagonist–Jodie, played by Ellen Page–can interact with objects when a white dot appears next to them. The dialogue system will have 4 one-word choices from which you can pick the appropriate one. There may be a timer in place but that’s not confirmed so far.

Aiden, Jodie’s invisible companion, appears when she needs its help. Aiden has certain powers like force push on objects and it can also fly through walls. The studio has no plans for a PS4 version of the game.

    I played the demo and hated the fact the games going to be in a 2.40:1 widescreen aspect ratio throughout the whole game. WTF is David cage thinking?

    I’ll wait till this gets cheaper now, was going to pick it up a day after launch.
