Don Mattrick left for Zynga and the move will be official this month and Bloomberg is reporting that Julie Larson-Green could take over from him as the head of the Microsoft’s Interactive Business Division.
Current Skype president Tony Bates could be in charge of acquisitions and relationships with software developers, according to Bloomberg’s sources
She may also be the head of the entire hardware division, as Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer plans to do major restructuring. It looks like Green is qualified enough to take that role but will she understand what gamers want?
“Ballmer may also give Windows chief Julie Larson-Green oversight of hardware engineering for the whole company, said one of the people, who asked not to be named because the plans are private,” their sources added.
The Xbox One will be released for $499 later this year in 21 markets around the world.
