Assassin’s Creed Origins Patch 1.04 PS4 Pro Downgrades Noticed By Users

Assassin’s Creed Origins is one of the best looking games on the PS4 and especially the Pro with an incredible visual fidelity on offer. However, with the release of patch 1.04 players are reporting that the game has been downgraded to improve performance.

Pop in issues, lower LOD, poor draw distance and textures are being reported. It’s not clear if these issues are wide-spread but a ton of people are complaining about it Reddit and Ubisoft forums.

There’s been a report of an increase in performance but the game ran pretty well on the Pro so this adjustment was not required. Some people have been suggesting that the Pro version was downgraded to make the Xbox One X version look good but we think that is unlikely.

Ubisoft knows of these complaints and responded: “We received a few reports from players that after the 1.03 update that there were drops in the draw distance. Is this the issue you are experiencing after installing update 1.04? If so did you also experience this after installing update 1.03? As I mentioned this was reported and is currently being investigated,” Ubisoft staff member responded to the issue on their forums.

As you can see in this image below, everything looks worse. Wasn’t the case in 1.03 according to some players.

We recommend not downloading patch 1.04 until a fix is released. PC version also has issues but that’s related to the DRM.
