2K Asks Gamers To Help With Belgium’s Anti-Loot Box Ruling

Belgium’s gaming commission had deemed loot boxes illegal and likened it to gambling but 2K Games, publisher of NBA 2K2019, has voiced concerns about the ruling and has released a statement.

“We are working to comply with the BGC’s current interpretation of these laws. As a result, we have made some local changes to the MyTeam mode. These changes are necessary in order for us to accomodate the BGC’s interpretation of the Belgian Gaming Act. Specifically, we will be turning off the ability to purchase packs with premium (non-earned) currency/VC.”

They have also asked gamers to tell the Belgium government to change their minds because their packs supposedly comply with the Belgian laws.

“If you agree, we recommend that you contact your local government representative to communicate your opinion.”
